You either liked it, or you didn't, when Steenburg Lake's water level dropped to its lowest in decades during the summer of 2025.
Egged on by high temperatures and a lack of rain, the lake level, as measured at the log dam north of the beach on Steenburg Lake North Road, dropped 805mm from 1055mm on April 6 to 250 mm on Sept. 12, 2025.
The Steenburg Lake Community Association is creating a historical record of the big event. Please send us your photos that illustrate the affect of the low water level. Include your name, where the photo was taken, when, and if desired you can include a comment about the impact of this summer's water level. Photos and comments will be published on steenburglake.ca and a selection will appear in the fall SLCA newsletter. EMAIL: inquiries@steenburglake.ca
