The Steenburg Lake Community Association (SLCA) was incorporated in 1974.
For a large population, the SLCA has a high rate of member participation: 82% of the properties on the lake are paid members of the Association.
Our elected Board of Directors has a mandate to maintain a relationship with local government and environmental stakeholders, to communicate relevant information to the Membership, and to advocate on behalf of the members.
At Steenburg Lake we make a healthy lake a priority. The Board takes actions to educate and encourage responsible lake stewardship which includes participation in the Lake Partners Program, a community water testing program. Our members encourage use of the Clean-Drain-Dry practice to limit the spread of aquatic invasive species.
And what fun is a waterfront property without social events! Our Social Chair works with an enthusiastic committee of volunteers to offer multiple events each year including a regatta, Canada Day celebrations, an annual pig/corn roast, and much more.
Communication is key. The SLCA publishes a newsletter multiple times each year, maintains this website, shares information on social media and encourages members to have a voice by submitting their own content for publication. The SLCA also actively seeks information to share with members on waterfront topics such as invasive species, water quality, shoreline maintenance, wildlife, municipal affairs and much more.
