Invasive Species on Lake Simcoe:

Today’s Challenges, Tomorrow’s Risks

Presented by: Jordan McDonald Invading Species Awareness Program Project Specialist, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters

As Ontario's most heavily fished inland lake in southern Ontario, with more angling trips in the winter months than the other three seasons combined, Lake Simcoe is at a heightened risk for invasive species. The Invading Species Awareness Program (ISAP), in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources, has developed an invasive species Watch List for Lake Simcoe for residents and visitors. In this webinar presentation, ISAP Project Specialist Jordan McDonald will review the species on the watch list, their establishment status, identification, and potential impacts to the Lake Simcoe fishery.
