SLCA Golf Tournament 2026 (15 Aug 2026)

Tee up for a great day spent with your lake friends and neighbours for a reboot of the popular Steenburg Lake Golf Tournament. This year we are getting back into the swing of things with a simplified event, scramble style , shot gun start, and fun prizes. The cost is very reasonable as there is no meal included but, we have arranged for a social gathering afterwards at Iron Rooster if you wish to join us.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday August 15, 2026
Time: 9:30 am, Shotgun Start
Location: West Highland Golf Course, 177 Atkinson Rd, Madoc, ON
Fees: $ per person, includes golf and a cart
Registration: To play in the tournament please register in teams of 2 or 4, let us know in the registration who you are playing with. If you are a team of 2 you will be paired with another twosome for the tournament.

There is no meal included with this tournament but we have made arrangements for a social gathering at The Iron Rooster after the tournament. Please let us know if you would like to attend, so we can arrange enough seating. You are most welcome to order off the menu at your own cost.

Scramble Golf Tournament

Format: 4-man scramble. Each team will play as a foursome, using the best shot from their members on each hole.

Rules:

Each team member will tee off on every hole.
The best shot from the tee is chosen, and all other players must play from that spot.
Balls must be placed within one club length of the chosen shot, but not closer to the hole.
Scoring is based on the team's strokes on each hole, using the best shot from their members.

Ukulele Workshop (29 Aug 2026)

A fun beginner workshop hosted by Chris Langman who has invited Lynda and Nori , the organizers of the Orangeville Ukuladies and Ukuladdies to show us the basics. Learn how to play some simple songs , bring your own ukulele or borrow one of the instruments that will be provided. no experience necessary , this workshop is suitable for adults and children 12 years or older.

Have-A-Dock Jamboree (29 Aug 2026)

This year marks the19th annual "Have-A-Dock Jamboree" hosted by Fred and Karyn Cotie. The show, being held Saturday August 29 at 2 p.m., features a variety of talent presented to you by friends, relatives, and neighbours of Steenburg Lake.

Limerick Fire Chief Greg Maxwell will be on site grilling up hamburgers and jumbo hot dogs for $5.00 each. Boaters will have the luxury of free personal delivery of food to their boat while they are enjoying the show. Donations above the base cost are much needed and appreciated.

Cash donations will be accepted by Fred at the dock or by Greg at the BBQ station.

You can also donate directly by e-transferring to backtheredlimerick@gmail.com (please indicate "HaveADock donation" in the notes). All proceeds from the show will go to the Limerick Township Fire Department/Back The Red-Limerick Firemen Association.

Bring your lawn chair or come by boat to 727 Steenburg Lake North Road.

SLCA End of Summer BBQ & Corn Roast (5 Sep 2026)

The SLCA is happy to host The Annual BBQ and Corn Roast on Saturday September 5th! Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible, we have a limited number of tickets and we will sell out. Ticket sales close August 30th and no tickets will be available after this date.

There will be some tables and chairs for seating but we encourage you to bring a chair if you can.

Tickets for Members & their immediate families can be placed on one order -- select 'Option 1: Member'. Tickets for Friends must be purchased on a separate order (select 'Option 2: Friend')
